All MSU students, faculty, and staff may join. However, only MSU students may participate in official NCTTA matches. However, faculty and staff may play in unofficial B Team matches.
MSUTTC members have several unique privileges that set them apart from other MSU students, faculty, and staff. Club members are eligible to compete in all tournaments attended or hosted by the MSUTTC. Members have priority registration in open tournaments organized by the MSUTTC, which means that you do not have to worry about all the spots filling up before you can sign up. Members also have full access to all MSUTTC equipment, including much nicer tables, nets, and a table tennis robot for solo practices. As a member, you are guaranteed access to a table during our regular practices hours, no matter how many people are there at the time.
Other member benefits include regular updates on important club events and opportunities and invitations to occasional club events that are invitation-only. For more information contact us and send the club president an email requesting information.
Dues are typically $10/sem or $20/year. In order to join the MSUTTC, the MSU Department of Recreational Sports requires that you fill out and sign two forms. The first form is a club roster that requires some basic information about yourself. The second form is a Department of Recreational Sports waiver.
To fill out the club roster, simply attend one of our regular practices and let the club president or vice president know that you wish to join. You must provide your name, student ID, phone number, MSU email address, the name of a person (typically a friend/relative) who may be contacted in case of an emergency, and that person's phone number. Additionally, if you are CPR certified, please tell this to the president or vice president when you join.
Second, you must sign a waiver that, in short, guarantees that you will not sue MSU if you are hurt playing in a MSU sports club. You may view or download this waiver by clicking the link below.
NOTE: The MSU Table Tennis Club does not share the information you provide on the club roster with any individuals outside the MSUTTC or MSU Department of Recreational Sports. Within the MSUTTC, only the club officers will have access to this information.
